We bring the industry into the classroom and the classroom into the industry. You will work with professionals and experience real-world learning that enriches your education with the management expertise you need to lead in the hospitality industry.

Leveraging our Chicago location, the second largest hospitality market in the U.S., you will gain access to diverse, award-winning restaurants and hotels, and a powerhouse economy and service industry. And our ECE students can take advantage of our strong ties with Chicago’s public and private school. As a Kendall student, graduate, or alumni, you will have job opportunities throughout the U.S. and abroad. Depending on your academic program, you will be required to complete one or more work experience, rotational, or supervisory internships.

At Kendall, we deliver key services, such as resume writing, job search strategies, mock interviews and portfolio development. You will learn to manage career development in school and throughout your professional life.

Career Counseling

We offer career counseling as part of an ongoing process to lead you to greater self-awareness of your career potential.Starting with a focused assessment of individuals’ skills, talents, and interests, we assist students and alumni with the process of identifying career goals, and then taking proactive and effective steps towards reaching those goals, leading to fulfilling employment.

  • Identify professional values and personality preferences;
  • Understand the process and techniques of conducing an effective job search;
  • Develop a professional resume, and other relevant written correspondence;
  • Learn strong communication and interviewing skills to facilitate rapport and effectively present one’s achievements and abilities;
  • Network with relevant professionals within their field;
  • Assess competing offers, realistically select the best fit among them, and negotiate a final employment package (weighing salary, benefits, and other less tangible yet important factors).
