Sascha Cocron, M.B.A. Dean - Kendall College School of Business Sascha Cocron holds an MBA with honors from The University of Chicago, and received his B.A. in philosophy and mathematics from St. John’s College, Annapolis. Mr. Cocron has extensive experience in corporate strategy consulting and in entrepreneurial ventures, having been a founding member of two venture-funded high technology start-ups. Mr. Cocron was a Principal at Mercer Management Consulting, one of the world’s premier strategy consulting firms. Stationed in the London and Washington, DC offices, Mr. Cocron consulted to senior executives of Global 1000 clients in the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, France, the Netherlands, Australia, Canada, and the United States. His past casework experience includes strategy development and M&A advisory work in numerous industries including: telecommunications, oil and gas, high technology manufacturing, information services, professional services, hospitality, and entertainment. In addition to his consulting work, Mr. Cocron was in charge of professional staff training for Mercer’s Washington office, and developed and instructed courses in marketing, strategy, micro-economics, and corporate finance to new Analyst (undergraduate) and Associate (MBA-level) hires. A native of Austria, Mr. Cocron is bilingually fluent in German and English.

Todd Allen, Senior Lecturer Todd Allen holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, and received his B.A. (magna cum laude) in Chemistry from Carleton College. Mr. Allen has extensive strategic marketing consulting and management experience in the travel, hospitality, and financial services fields. Mr. Allen was a Principal at Mercer Management Consulting, one of the world’s premier strategy consulting firms. Based in the Boston and New York City offices, Mr. Allen provided marketing and strategic counsel to senior executives of clients in the hotel, cruise, travel, information services and financial services industries. In the late 1990s, Mr. Allen served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for American Classic Voyages Company – a holding company operating two boutique cruise lines. Mr. Allen was responsible for the development and construction of 4 new cruise ships. In addition, he served as interim Vice President of Marketing for both cruise lines. Mr. Allen later served as Vice President, Marketing and Travel for AAA Chicago Motor Club and Vice President – Brand Management for the Auto Club Group (holding company for six AAA Clubs operating in eight states in the Upper Midwest). Currently, Mr. Allen is Vice President of Marketing for Safeway Insurance Group of Westmont, IL. He serves on the Board of Directors of Camp Manito-wish YMCA in Boulder Junction, WI.

Tron Fu, Senior Lecturer Tron Fu has an MBA from The University of Chicago and received his B. S. in Computer Science and Anthropology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mr. Fu is an experienced entrepreneur, having founded and run several commercially successful internet ventures including Sol Tec, an internet service provider, and Riverwatcher, a web application middleware developer. Mr. Fu has remained active in the entrepreneurial community of the state of Illinois, and is a member of the Illini-Entrepreneurship Center Network Award Committee. At present, Mr. Fu advises companies interested in doing business in China, focusing on the entertainment, fashion, and publishing industries. Mr. Fu is also a sought-after guest lecturer, teaching entrepreneurship and value creation at The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, Tianjing University of Technology (China), Lake Forest College, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Mike Harley, Senior Lecturer Mike Harley holds an MBA from The University of Chicago, a J. D. from Vanderbilt University, and is a Monbusho Fellow. He served as a Researcher at Tohoku University (Japan). Mr. Harley has extensive senior management experience in several multi-national corporations. Specializing in growth strategy development and mergers and acquisitions, Mr. Harley successfully developed and executed growth strategies at Schneider Electric S.A., Pharmacia/Monsanto, M.A. Hanna Company, and Eastman Kodak Company/Eastman Chemical Company. Mr. Harley also ran several growth businesses at Schneider Electric North America with combined P&L responsibility in excess of $600 million. He brings a broad experience in general management, sales, marketing, corporate development, as well as a diverse global and cultural background. At present, Mr. Harley is CEO of GrowthPhases LLC, a management consulting firm specializing in creating and implementing successful growth strategies for companies in technology manufacturing, specialty chemical, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries. Mr. Harley serves on the Board of Advisors of Furman University where he graduated with honors and served as President of the Student Body.

David Long, Senior Lecturer David Long holds an MBA in marketing from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and his B.A. in philosophy and mathematics from St. Johns College, Annapolis. Mr. Long has extensive marketing & sales, business turnaround, and corporate entrepreneurship experience. Over the past eight years, Mr. Long developed new companies and businesses lines for Educate, Inc. and Laureate Education, Inc. (both formerly Sylvan Learning Systems, Inc.). Mr. Long launched Educate, Inc.’s public school tutoring business, growing the organization from idea to a $25 million business serving 25,000 students within a two and half year period. He has also served as Vice President of Product Management for an educational software company and Director of eLearning for an online education company that produced courses with leading US universities. Mr. Long also serves as Treasurer and sits on the Board of Directors of Sports4Kids, a national non-profit dedicating to increasing sports and play opportunities for public school students. He lives with his wife in Baltimore, MD.
