Experience the Kendall College Symposium class and its instructors this term for a new & exciting theme to our Monday Night Dining Series. Take a culinary journey through the various countries that lie south of the equator and savor their diverse specialties without leaving Chicago. 

For reservations, please call 312.752.2eat (2328) or secure on line reservations here. The Monday Night Dining Series is $38.00 per person, per banquet, which includes non-alcoholic beverages and 10.25% sales tax, but does not include gratuity. All banquets are held in The Dining Room at Kendall College. Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover cards are accepted.
 
Seating for each Banquet begins at 6:30 p.m. and consists of a set five-course menu. Because of the nature of the series, we may not always be able to honor special dietary requests nor can we guarantee a substitute for any menu item offered.

6 October • South America

Colombian Arepas with Shrimp Escabeche

Chilean Chick Pea & Chard Soup

Peruvian Lomo a lo Pobre Traditional “Steak for the Poor”

Argentine Cheese Empanada with Mixed Greens

Trio of Chilean desserts
Sopapilla - a flat circular deep fried 'bread' made of pumpkin and flour.

Alfajores- shortbread cookie filled with manjar or dulce de leche

Picarones- sweet, ring-shaped fritter with a squash base served and sweetened with miel de chancaca (chancaca honey), a sweet sauce made of raw cane sugar and flavored with orange.

13 October • South Africa

Curried Apple Soup

Vegetable & Potato Samosa with Mango Chutney

Braised Lamb & Tomato, African Flatbread

Trio of English & Dutch Cheeses

Warm Ginger Malva Pudding served with a roibos tea anglaise, Amarula ice cream and Soetkoekies

17 November • Australia and New Zealand

Seafood Laksa

Australian Beef Salad

Barramundi with Bok Choy & Coconut Curry Sauce

Cheese Course

Traditional Pavalova- Marshmallow like meringue cookies served with Lemon Myrtle clotted cream, kiwi compote, and Macadamia nut tuile. Wattleseed ice cream served on an Anzac cookie.

24 November • Indonesia

Bami Jawa (Indonesian Style Noodles)

Kari Shrimp Soup

Roast Chicken with Orange & Soy, Pineapple Rice

Papaya & Cucumber Salad

Duet of Bubur Pulut Hitam
(Black Rice Pudding) and Stuffed Pancake Roll (Dadar Gulung) served with jackfruit sorbet
