Plans for Academic Program Improvement:
Kendall’s program improvement plans are linked to assessment of student learning initiatives. Kendall has developed a 5-year assessment model that includes college-wide and program-specific assessment efforts focused on student learning. It also includes measures of institutional effectiveness.
Plans include:
- Definitions of college-wide learning outcomes
- Program-specific learning outcomes stated in measurable terms
- Curriculum maps for each academic program and general education listing each outcome and where it is Taught in the program, as well as where the item is Expected and Assessed
- An annual plan to assess all learning outcomes at the college and program levels, with lessons learned and actions designed and implemented
- Program-level annual reports listing data collected and program changes resulting from the data
- An Assessment Handbook detailing the assessment process
- Connecting the Strategic plan, Institutional Effectiveness Plan, and Assessment Plan with the Long Range Plan and the budget for a planning cycle
