How to Apply
Kendall encourages students to begin the financial aid process as early as possible. In fact, students may begin the financial aid application process before full acceptance by the College.
STEP ONE – FAFSA
Complete the Free 2014-2015 Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Use the information from your 2012 Federal Income Taxes and list Kendall College school code: 001703. In order to complete FAFSA process electronically you and your parent need to sign the form using your PIN. You will be prompted to create a PIN when completing the FAFSA.
STEP TWO – Additional Documentation
The Financial Aid Department will contact the student if further documentation is needed. Additional documents may include IRS tax transcripts and proof of permanent residency or citizenship.
STEP THREE – Award Determination and Acceptance
The Financial Aid Department will produce an aid package for review by the student.
The student (and parents for PLUS loan) will accept or decline awards through the myFinAid, sign the Master Promissory Note, and complete loan counseling.
STEP FOUR – Disbursement of Funds
Please note: State grant aid typically does not pay towards charges incurred in summer. Direct loans will not pay until a promissory note and an Entrance Interview have been completed.
Most financial aid is disbursed electronically to the student’s account in accordance with the terms/amounts accepted through myFinAid once enrollment status and satisfactory academic progress have been confirmed.
Please note: Although the College has no financial aid deadlines, some funds are limited. Students who complete the process early have greater opportunity to access these funds. It is important for students to respond promptly to any requests for additional clarification or documentation. The priority date for the next academic year is March 1, and students are encouraged to submit their FAFSAs by March 1.
Aid will not be processed until all required documents are completed and returned to the Financial Aid office.
