Internships
Regardless of what degree program you select, you will be required to complete intership(s) within your studies at Kendall College. The interships provide you with an opportunity to take what you have learned and apply it in the "real world".
Internships within the U.S.
Currently, we have students on internships throughout the U.S. - so the choice is yours. However, many students choose to stay in Chicago for their internships. With 3 of the top 4 hotels in North America, as well as over 17,000 restaurants, the City of Chicago provides students with more choices than anywhere else in the United States.
Internships outside the U.S.
In partnership with Laureate International Universities, we have students interning in over 75 different countries throughout the world. These opportunities give our students a true "international" experience in Hospitality, Business, or Culinary Arts.
As an international student, there are additional procedures required to complete internships overseas. They may include attainment of a work-permit or work-visa for your destination country as well as potential second language requirements that will be necessary for you to learn and succeed in the oversees internship.

Working after graduation
All students who are in the U.S. on a student (F-1) visa, do have an option to work after completion of studies. This is referred to as "OPT" or Optional Practical Training. This program allows graduated students to work in the U.S. for up to 12 months after completing their studies. Once the 12 months are completed, the student will be required to depart the U.S as their student visa would have expired.
