Kendall Hosts Competition Featuring Taiwanese Cuisine
On December 12, 2011, Kendall College is pleased to host a competition where nine culinary arts students will prepare creative dishes inspired by traditional Taiwanese cuisine. In preparation for the final competition, the culinary students learned about Taiwanese cuisine by Ms. Meilie Tsai of the Taiwan School in Lombard, Illinois. The competitors will be judged by Ms. Tsai; Chef Christopher Koetke, executive director of the Kendall College School of Culinary Arts; and Baushuan Ger, director-general of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago. The student who wins top honors will travel to Taiwan for a week to study the foods and cuisine of Taiwan firsthand.
The competition is sponsored by the Government Information Office, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Chicago and Mr. Baushuan Ger. The competition also celebrates the new website featuring the cuisine of Taiwan.
