Kendall College Offers Working Adults Greater Flexibility with New Part-Time Program
School of Business and School of Hospitality Management Offer Part-Time B.A. with Combined Online and In-Class Instruction
CHICAGO, Illinois (July 6, 2009) - Chicago-based Kendall College recently expanded its flexible bachelors’ programs to include a new part-time scheduling option within two of its schools, making it even easier for working adults to earn a B.A. degree. In addition to traditional weekday programs, students in Kendall’s Schools of Business and Hospitality Management are able to work full-time while participating in courses combining online and periodic Saturday classroom instruction.
The Kendall College School of Business and School of Hospitality Management first launched such flexible programs in 2007, contributing to increased enrollment in both programs. Kendall expects to experience continued growth with the addition of its new part-time curriculum.
“Some people may find it challenging to balance work, education, family, etc. especially in a down economy. With this new program option, there are fewer required credits per quarter, which means working adults can earn a B.A. degree without sacrificing as many hours each week,” said Dr. Nivine Megahed, President of Kendall College.
B.A. in Business
Kendall’s Bachelor of Arts in Business equips students with the critical skills and business savvy to excel in today’s global workforce. In the part-time program, students follow a curriculum that combines online courses with classroom instruction approximately one Saturday per month. Students must also complete a comprehensive management research paper and a capstone consulting project to earn their degree. The School of Business offers both full- and part-time students concentrations in Management, Professional Cookery, Baking & Pastry, Personal Chef & Catering and FoodService Management (new in July 2009).
B.A. in Hospitality Management
The School of Hospitality Management, ranked as one of the top three hospitality schools in the world (Taylor Nelson Sofres Travel & Tourism 2007), helps working adults advance their current careers or pursue new professions by offering mostly online courses with in-class meetings selected Saturdays each quarter. Kendall’s hybrid on-line / on-ground program replicates the courses taught in the standard full-time daytime program combining experiential learning with technologies designed to make higher education accessible to working adults.
