Culinary Arts Alums Selected to Design Residential Kitchens

Distinguished Kendall College School of Culinary Arts Alums Selected to Design Residential Kitchens by Artisans & Co.
Food Network’s “Iron Chef” Jose Garces and New York chef Michael White will also host inaugural culinary dining experience in the homeowner’s kitchen

Chicago-December 12, 2011-Kendall College School of Culinary Arts’ alumni Jose Garces in Philadelphia and Michael White in New York have been selected by Artisans & Co, America’s premier design-and-build cabinetry company, to design one-of-a-kind, handcrafted and exquisitely constructed residential kitchens. Part of the Artisan Kitchen program, Artisans & Co. seeks to redefine the art of the residential kitchen by drawing upon the culinary expertise and know-how of distinguished chefs. Also part of this team is famed chef Dan Butler from Wilmington, Del.

“Kendall College is extremely proud of our distinguished alums, and Chefs Garces and White exemplify the quality of culinary education for which Kendall is known worldwide,” says Renee Zonka, RD, CEC, CHE, MBA, dean of the School of Culinary Arts. “Both chefs’ accomplishments represent the epitome of professional heights to which every student in the Kendall College School of Culinary Arts can aspire.”
Once a homeowner has selected an Artisans & Co. chef, the chef and the Artisan & Co. team consisting of architects, designers and craftsmen work with the homeowner to develop a kitchen featuring custom cabinetry and counter tops, custom finishes, appliances and fixtures, as well as utensils and tableware. Each chef is involved every step of the way, from initial concept discussions and the design-and-build process to hosting an inaugural culinary dining experience in the homeowner’s custom-designed Artisan Kitchen.
“We are delighted to collaborate with these incredibly talented chefs on this new offering,” says Gary Munch, president of Artisans & Co. “Our mission is to create exquisite custom-fabricated, high-performance residential kitchens that function as a commercial kitchen whilst retaining the beauty and comfort of the home.”
