Kendall College Added to Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission ESL Approved List

CHICAGO—June 25, 2014—Kendall College, ranked the most ethnically diverse liberal arts college in the Midwest in U.S. News & World Report’s 2013 Edition of Best Colleges (October, 2012), is now included on the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission’s (SACM) list of authorized and approved ESL programs. Institutions included on SACM’s list are schools that the organization has confirmed are accredited and provide a diverse, cultural experience to their students who want to study English.

“We’re extremely proud to be included on the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission ESL list,” Kendall College President Emily Williams Knight says. “Kendall continues to become a cultural capitol for international students in the Midwest and with our new English Language Institute (ELI) on campus, this SACM inclusion brings us closer to our goal of being one of the strongest international institutions in the country.”

At Kendall, the ELI program offers English language instruction, with options ranging from four to 10 weeks. Students can choose to join Kendall’s short language and culture workshop or enroll in a degree program after becoming an English Language Learner after two months.

The Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission is an agency created by the Saudi government to aid the educational and cultural needs of Saudis studying in the United States. It serves as an intermediary between U.S. educational institutions in terms of issues pertaining to culture, education and science. Saudi students who receive the King Abdullah Scholarship are authorized to attend U.S. schools on this list.
