Kendall College Launches Study- and Intern-Abroad Program in Sydney, Australia
Agreement with Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School provides international academic and internship opportunities
CHICAGO—June 14, 2011—The Kendall College School of Hospitality Management today announced a new study and intern abroad program through an articulation agreement with Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School located in Leura and Sydney, Australia, and ranked number one among hospitality management schools in Australia for an international career in a survey of international hotel hiring managers. The program will be available to students starting in fall 2011.
The Kendall College/Blue Mountains program is a full calendar year and includes two quarters of study and two quarters of paid internship, while allowing students to still obtain their Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality Management from Kendall College within three years. Students will spend time in both Leura and Sydney, gaining academic credentials and valuable international work experience. Total package cost is comparable to staying at Kendall for the year.
“Studying abroad can be one of the most fulfilling and exciting experiences in a student’s education, and especially valuable to students planning to enter the international hospitality industry,” said Jeffrey Catrett, dean of the Kendall College School of Hospitality Management. “One of the benefits of this program is that students have the opportunity to work from day one in Australia, making it both easier and more affordable for them.”
