The Student Experience
Kendall offers a diverse array of student clubs, organizations and activities to complement your college experience.
Student Government Federation (SGF)
Becoming involved in the SGF is a great way to build leadership skills and have a voice in creating the campus community. SGF represents the student body on various committees and boards within Kendall College, such as the Board of Trustees and Faculty Senate. The SGF works closely with the Office of Student Life & Leadership to sponsor trips and conferences for the student body, and helps develop new groups or clubs when there’s interest.
Our students partner with non-profit organizations to provide mentoring and tutoring for youth in our area who are often growing up surrounded by crime, drugs, and/or violence. They also strive to get the kids involved in group activities that might involve cooking, music, cultural events and introductions to entrepreneurial adventures.
National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH)
NSMH addresses diversity and multiculturalism through fundraising events and programs, as well as supports the career development of student members. NSMH brings together current students with company sponsors, industry representatives, hospitality organizations, advisors and mentors, and interested high-school students.
The Book Club meets quarterly to discuss themes and ideas within a chosen text. Selections range from classics to pop culture, and choices vary depending on the interest of the group.
Eta Sigma Delta
The International Hospitality Management Society recognizes hospitality students for outstanding academic achievement, service and demonstrated professionalism.
The Garden Club of Kendall College meets Spring through Fall quarters and members oversee the planting, tending, and harvesting of our on-campus vegetable and herb garden. The club is a great way to learn more about restaurant gardens.
Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI)
Kendall’s chapter of this international organization is the first student chapter in the Chicago area. The organization educates students about trends in the hospitality industry and is a leading voice for both hospitality and sales and marketing management disciplines.
The International Club is devoted to enriching student life through the exploration of the cultures represented within the Kendall community, which includes students from 53 different countries.
Kendall College Marketing Club
This college-wide, student-centered organization provides students with opportunities to deepen their understanding of the marketing field.
Student Programming Board (SPB)
This club is dedicated to getting students more involved on campus. Members plan and enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor events, ranging from rock climbing to performing arts. Students involved in this club enjoy making new friends and playing an active role within the Kendall community.
Latinos Juntos promotes knowledge of the variety and richness of Latino culture through events on and off campus. This club meets weekly on campus and invites members from all cultural backgrounds to take an active part in the group.
