On October 16th, Kendall students were given the opportunity to learn tricks of the trade from seasoned networkers at “Networking 101: It isn’t work – it’s fun!” The event, sponsored by the School of Business Junior Advisory Board, was well attended by students, Junior and Senior Advisory Board members, faculty and staff. Michelle Coussens, Dean of the School of Business, was thrilled with the turnout. “I think we really achieved what we wanted to accomplish. The students walked away with networking skills they can use today. They learned how to interact with other professionals and how to expand their network.”
The event took place in the Wine Room where hors d’oeuvres and beverages were served, creating an approachable, relaxed atmosphere for all attendees. Students introduced themselves to advisory board members by rotating around the room within a set timeframe. Next on the agenda was an engaging lecture from business coach Jim Rosas and tips from Senior Advisory Board member Gail Sussman Miller on how to network more efficiently. Afterwards, students got to practice their freshly gained knowledge by participating in another networking rotation with all participants.
