Flexibility You Need to Continue Working Full-time

We understand that it can be difficult to balance your family, a job and school all at the same time – that is why we offer convenient pathways for you to earn your degree while still maintaining the other important aspects of your life. We don’t ask that you put your goals on hold- you can begin our program at any stage of your college education.

Three Practical Tracks and Customized Concentrations

Our three tracks are adapted for adults who juggle full-time jobs and even fuller lives. You can choose one of the following:

  • B.A. in Early Childhood Education
  • B.A. in Early Childhood Education with Illinois Professional Educator Licensure
  • Illinois Professional Educator Licensure Preparation (postbaccalaureate)

We also offer various concentrations to help you select or focus on your interest or passion. You can specialize in areas like Special Education or English as a Second Language (ESL), or pursue a path toward administrative or director positions to oversee education programs.

Opportunities After Graduation

Once you earn your early childhood education degree and test to receive your Professional Educator License you can begin teaching children from birth through the grade level designated on your certificate. In Illinois, this means birth through grade 2 as of September 1, 2019. By pursuing specialized instruction and courses you can also be endorsed to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) or become a Special Education teacher. We have a team of professionals who can provide you with current statistics, valuable information and helpful coaching while you try to land your first job after graduating. Our Career Services Department can get the answers you need to succeed.
