Kendall College Branding Campaign Wins Top Honors in National Competition
CHICAGO, (December 17, 2010)—Kendall College today announced that its 2010 “Passion” branding campaign received top honors and recognition in two national marketing competitions, The MarCom Awards and The Davey Awards. This is the first year that Kendall College has entered for consideration of these awards.
The Kendall Passion branding campaign topped 5,000 other entries to earn a Platinum-level 2010 MarCom Award for its “Passion Unites Us” brochure for internal communications. The “My Passion” advertising campaign earned a Gold-level 2010 MarCom Award in a competition that included advertising programs submitted by national public relations organizations, local ad clubs, and local business communicator chapters. Of nearly 5,000 entries this year for the MarCom Awards, which is judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, 18 percent received platinum-level recognition and another 18 percent won gold-level awards.
The Kendall Passion campaign also took home top honors from The Davey Awards, which is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of Visual Arts, consisting of top-tier professionals of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms. There were more than 4,000 entries this year and the Kendall Passion campaign won two Davey Silver Awards, one for the “My Passion” advertising campaign and one for the “Passion Unites Us” brochure.
“Passion is the common thread that unites the entire Kendall College community,” said Karen Gersten, president of Kendall College. “Our students choose Kendall College because they know we are committed to helping them develop their skills and passion to become successful professionals in hospitality management, culinary arts, business or education.”
Kendall College’s marketing department, along with its agency, Synergy Creative, Inc., launched the campaign in July 2010 after extensive research, including interviews with former and current students. “Passion” was a recurring theme in both the research and interviews, and represents both the determination of students as well as the educational community of caring faculty and administrators.
