Kendall College Debuts English Language Institute
CHICAGO (April 25, 2014) – Kendall College, ranked the most ethnically diverse liberal arts college in the Midwest in U.S. News & World Report’s 2013 Edition of Best Colleges (October, 2012), is now offering a unique program that will allow international students to come to Kendall College to improve their English language skills while enjoying the enriching environment Chicago provides.
“Internationality continues to come to the forefront here at Kendall College,” said Emily Williams Knight, president of Kendall College. “The English Language Institute is another step in strengthening our position as a highly diverse and international school. It will allow us to attract top students from all over the globe, regardless of their English speaking ability.”
The ELI program offers English language instruction utilizing the well-known and respected Cambridge University Press content. With options ranging from four to ten weeks, students can choose to join Kendall’s short language and culture workshop or enroll in a degree program after becoming an English Language Learner after two months.
“We have selected a really talented team of educators to lead these courses,” said Dr. Maria A. Montalvo, Director of the English Language Institute. “This diverse group will be instrumental in offering international students not only the opportunity to learn English, but also a competitive advantage when heading into their college careers.”
The first spring program we will host 25 students from Turkey, China, Vietnam, Korea, and Guatemala; seven of whom will be joining Kendall as provisional students.
